About This Website
Introduction to Ausreformers.Org
Welcome to Ausreformers.Org! This page is a brief introduction to my Christian blog: its purpose, motives, methods and content. I have created this introduction in the hopes that you wont mis-construe my intentions and run off slandering me in the worst possible way. This page is also for my friends, so I don't lose any! After reading this page, you may also wish to read my very first post.
I first setup this website several years ago, but it never got off the ground. My initial intention was to publish reformed Christian content and links to other internet resources that will help folks understand the Gospel of grace. Well this was way before the Blogging era, back when the Web was a little less "crowded". Now, quite frankly this Blog is nothing more than a release valve for my theological learning and frustrations. The only problem is now I have a LOT more of them! More importantly it is a forum for me to talk about my love for the gospel and Jesus Christ.
What This Website IS
- An informal communication medium of my reflections on biblical truth for those that care to read it.
- A way to communicate my thoughts about the way we "do church" here in Australia or anywhere else.
- A way to encourage me to study the bible MORE.
- An way of generating in-links to other website projects I have going to improve their search ranking :)
What This Website is NOT
- A scholarly, infallible, God-inspired archive of theological truth (I may even forget to run the spell-checker).
- A hate website against Fundamentalists, Baptists, Roman Catholics, Presbyterians or write your churches name here _______________ .
- A debate website for ranting endlessly back and forth (though I do not mind comments and feedback).
Who am I?
I am an Aussie Christian bloke, converted to Christ when I was 21, now in my thirties. I first came to Christ through fundamental independent baptist ministries here in Australia. I owe them a great debt of gratitude, for their testimony, their commitment to preaching Jesus. However some sections of this website will spend time on the doctrinal error and disappointment I have had to come to terms with in these same circles. My hope is that others will learn from my observations and experiences, especially here in Australia and maybe a few readers will even become better "fundamentalists", though I do not believe Christians should use that term. I no longer consider myself a fundamentalist. I consider myself an evangelical Christian, reformed in my theology, and "mostly" baptist in my eccelesiology.
For those that always need to know the nitty gritties... I have been afforded some theological education at a graduate level from a reformed evangelical theological college in Australia. I have an undergraduate degree in Business, I am not a pastor!
